Solvent-free, acrylic based, sanitizing moisture barrier, primer and a bonding agent with a high bond strength for a well-prepared substrate. For absorbent and non-absorbent substrates to use before levelling, waterproofing, thin-bed tile installation or the installation of textile/flexible floor surfaces and parquet/engineered wood flooring, and large, small format tiles.
Okatmos® DSG can be used as a barrier primer based on 1-component reaction resin on unheated cementitious substrates such as cement screeds or concrete to block excessive moisture prior to levelling as well as elastic/textile coverings and parquet to be bonded thereon:
– Residual moisture of up to 3 CM-% (85 % RH) for unheated cement screed (2-layer application) and 4 CM-% (90 % RH) (3-layer application).
– For unheated concrete substrates (also under cement composite screed) with a maximum residual moisture of (90 % RH) (2 layers) and (95 % RH) (3 layers) according to DARR method measurements.
– For use under large ceramic tiles to provide moisture barrier from self-levelling compounds or normal-set thin-bed mortars.
– No thickness limitation when using Kiesel self-levelling compounds or tile adhesives over 2-layered applications on calcium sulphate screeds.
Okatmos® DSG can be used as a moisture barrier based on 1-component reaction resin for the installation of large format tiles on calcium sulphate flow screeds against moisture from normal setting cementitious installation products: on calcium sulphate screeds with 2-layer application, no limitation of the layer thickness of the cementitious Kiesel levelling compounds/installation materials.
Okatmos® DSG is also a suitable primer and bonding agent for smooth wood substrates, dense and non-absorbent substrates such as, e.g. old tile, natural stone or artificial stone surfaces before levelling work or thin-bed tile installations. Okatmos® DSG can also be applied outdoors on mineral substrates and on firmly adhering old ceramic coverings.
Not suitable over sulphite liquor adhesives, magnesia- based screeds and stonewood-screeds.
Sanitizing properties provide an additional odour containing properties.
The substrate must be inspected and ready for installation in accordance with the respective regulations of the individual countries as well as the current state of technology. Substrates must be pre-treated in accordance with the current BEB datasheet ('Evaluation and Preparation of Substrates').
Depending on the type of substrate, floor coverings and the requirements such as subsequent loading conditions, prepare substrate for laying using suitable Kiesel primers/pre-coats and self-levelling compounds. With non-absorptive substrates, apply a Kiesel levelling or patching compound to a minimum thickness of 2 mm. Technical datasheets of other Kiesel products used, must also be complied with. A system structure must be ensured.
Shake container before use.
Okatmos ®DSG as a moisture barrier:
Okatmos® DSG is applied as a two or three coat system to wooden substrates and non-absorbent substrates undiluted with a lambskin roller, high quality paint roller or brush on the substrate. On absorbent substrates, Okatmos® DSG is diluted 1:1 with water for the first application. After drying, a second or third application is undiluted to obtain a proper moisture barrier based on the required reduction of RH value. The third coat is applied when the second one is completely dry. Allow the applied primer to dry thoroughly. Apply Okatmos® DSG to the substrate with the Kiesel Primer or similar evenly over the entire surface and filling the pores. Avoid pooling.
Not to be used over hydronic radiant floor heating as a moisture barrier. Can be used over electric heated floors.
Allow the primer to dry thoroughly after applying each coat.
Not to be used over magnesium oxide, xylolite flooring, sulphite lye.
Okatmos ®DSG as a primer bonding agent:
Okatmos® DSG can also be applied over well prepared cutback adhesive, old terrazzo, particle board, chipboard, OSB, cement backer units and concrete screeds and well bonded ceramic tiles. When used over existing exterior tiles a waterproofing membrane Servoflex DMS 1K Plus SuperTec is required. Metal and similar substrates must be rust-free and cleaned with Acetone.
