Solid, high-density polyester fibre board with synthetic resin binding compound as a tension separator between substrate and appropriate ceramic and natural coverings. Can be installed over old substrates such as cement or calcium sulphate screed after crack formration or over flexible interior substrates on walls and floors. For new construction and renovation purposes with minimum height impact. Reduces step sound ba 9 dB according to certificate. ** For glue down engineered wood and parquet please refer to Kiesel TDS from Wood floors section.

The substrate must be dry, fully cured, sound and clean. Suitable substrates are concrete screed, OSB board, plywood (mechanically fastened), plaster, brick, stone, steel and ceramics. Level uneven substrates with Servofix, Servoplan or Servocret self-leveling underlayment before installing the insulating board. Use the fiber reinforced leveling compound Servoplan S 444 if the substrates not dimensional stable (OSB Board, plywood).

Concrete, cementiotious substrates prime with Okatmos® UG 30 with accordance to Kiesel TDS. Wood composite substrates prime with Okatmos® UG 30 and/or Okapox GF with accordance to Kiesel TDS. Wet areas, for example: bathrooms, washrooms with nominal moisture content, waterproofing membranes may be required. Use Okamul DF, Servoflex DMS 1KPlus SuperTec or Servoflex DMS 1K-schnell SuperTec. Please contact Kiesel Technical Department.

Only for use with stoneware and heavy natural coverings. Porcelain tiles with minimum thickness of 8 mm (5/16"). Natural stone only, with flexural strength of 1500 N/mm² and minimum thickness of 15 mm. Tile format shall not be less than 100 cm² min. to 2400 cm² max. (Tile size e.g. 10 x 10 cm to 40 x 60 cm (4"x4"-15"x23"). **Please contact Kiesel Technical Department if you consider other covering materials and sizes.

Dry lay Okaphone 4 uncoupling boards loosely staggering every sheet and connecting joints so that they fit tightly. Cut or saw board with a circular saw, jig saw or sheet rock knife. Then take boards out from the center and install with Servoflex K-Schnell SuperTec, Servoflex-Trio-schnell SuperTec, Servoflex-Trio-SuperTec by using a 6 - 8 mm square notched trowel (1/4"x1/4"x1/4") providing a coverage of approx. 1.6 - 2.2 kg m² (approx. 130 ft2 per 44lbs bag). Please contact the Kiesel Technical Service Department if you want to use other adhesives. Insert boards within approx. 15 to 20 minutes and press firmly.

Before the installation fill out the required wall distance at the edge connectors for the connection to emerging construction elements (5-7 mm or 3/16"-5/16"). Use generic screed sealing strips (e.g. seal gasket) for this purpose and cut the excess only after grouting is completed.

After the thin bed mortal has hardened cover the board joints with 20 mm (3/4") generic masking tape to prevent the mortal from filling existing joints.

Kiesel thinset drying time under Okaphone 4:

Servoflex K-Schnell SuperTecmin. 8 hours ***before tile/heated coils, heating mats installation
Servoflex-Trio-schnell SuperTecmin. 8 hours ***before tile/heated coils, heating mats installation
Servoflex-Trio-SuperTecmin. 12 hours ***before tile/heated coils, heating mats installation

Install coverings with a thin bed mortar such as Servoflex K-Schnell SuperTec, Servoflex-Trio-schnell SuperTec and Servoflex-Trio-SuperTec. Full mortar transfer is required.

Pre-installation priming or underlayment procedures are not required. Ensure an even distribution of the mortar.

Grouting can begin approx. 8 hours after an application of Servoflex K-schnell SuperTec, Servoflex-Trio-schnell SuperTec and approx. 12 hours when Servoflex-Trio-SuperTec. Use a flexible grouting compound such as Servoperl royal or Servoperl royal schnell.

Heating coils installation procedures:

Install coils per manufacture specifications. To embed coils use Servoplan S 444 or Servoflex K-schnell SuperTec, Servoflex-Trio-SuperTec, Servoflex-Trio-fast SuperTec in thickness not exceeding 5 mm (3/16"). Start setting tiles within:

Servoplan S 444min. 4 hours ***before tile installation
Servoflex-Trio-schnell SuperTecmin. 4 hours ***before tile installation
Servoflex-Trio-SuperTecmin. 12 hours ***before tile installation

Heating mats installation procedures:

Install mats per manufacture recommendations. To install mats and tiles use Servoflex K-Schnell SuperTec, Servoflex-Trio-SuperTec, Servoflex-Trio-schnell SuperTec. Kiesel doesn't recommend installation of tiles immediately after fixing electrical mat into place. Please look at table above concerning recommended waiting time.

Heated surface can be fully operational after approximately 4-7 days subsequently to grouting. Always set the temperature on your controls gradually.
