Okaphone 15 for tiles
Insulating board
- for decoupling and sound deadening insulation
- for increased walking and home comfort
- flexible and sturdy
- rot-resistant
- suitable for cutting and sawing

Synthetic resin bonded, stable and highly compressed, approx. 15 mm thick synthetic fibre board for decoupling and manufacturing installation surfaces with thermal and sound deadening insulation using suitable ceramic and natural stone covering materials in indoor areas. As an insulating intermediate layer for renovations, and on poorly insulated substrates in renovated or new buildings. Improving home and walking comfort with a low installed height.
The substrate must be dry, solid, and clean. Concrete, screed, plasters, masonry, screw fitted plywood V 100 (OSB-3, OSB-construction), wood floors, stone, steel, and ceramic floor coverings, for example, are suitable.Even out uneven substrate before installing the insulation panels with Servofix-, Servoplan- or Servocret putty.
For substrates with less ductility (such as wood), use a low-fibre putty Servoplan S 444. The substrates should be primed appropriately, such as for mineral substrates using Okatmos® GGS, Okatmos® UG 30, Okatmos® DSG or for wood using Okamul RSG Plus, Okatmos® UG 30, Okatmos® DSG or Okapox GF.
First, lay Okaphone 15 insulation panels loosely fitted together (offset joints), for wooden floors, laterally to the wooden boards (avoid cross joints). Cut the panels to size with a circular saw or jigsaw. Then, remove panels from the centre and bond using Servoflex K-schnell SuperTec with a notched trowel with 6-8 mm teeth. Please inquire with Kiesel application engineering if using other installation materials. Lay the panels within approx. 15-20 minutes and press firmly.
Ensure the necessary wall distance or connection to rising components before beginning installation work. Use commonly available screed insulation strips to do so. These strips may only be cut to size after completing grouting work. After the thin-bed mortar has hardened, for Servoflex K- Schnell SuperTec after approx. 2 hours at the earliest, cover the joints between the panels with tape, such as Tesa-Krepp 20 mm wide, in order to prevent mortar bridges.
When embedding suitable mesh heating mats, the fibre-reinforced quick putty Servoplan S 444 or a flexible putty from Kiesel can be used. Allow putty to harden. Maximum coating thickness 5 mm.
Lay coverings using a thin-bed mortar such as Servoflex K-Schnell SuperTec, Servoflex-Trio-SuperTec or Servoflex K-Plus SuperTec. Previous priming or filling is not required. Ensure that the covering material is embedded across almost the full surface.
Ceramic floor coverings made of porcelain with a thickness over 8 mm are suited for this purpose. If natural stone covering is selected, only use appropriately hard types (such as granite or gneiss) with a minimum thickness of over 15 mm or a breaking strength of 1500 N. Minimum format 100 cm² (tile size 10 cm x 10 cm). On flexible ceiling structures (flexibility max. L/300), max. 900 cm² (tile size 30 cm x 30 cm). Please contact application engineering if using larger formats.
For use in wet rooms of water impact classes W0-I and W1-I with Okamul DF, Servoflex DMS 1K Plus SuperTec, Servoflex DMS 1K schnell SuperTec or the Kiesel sealing sheet, apply a waterproofing compound.
With Servoflex K-Schnell SuperTec, grout after approx. 8 hours at the earliest, and with Servoflex K-Plus SuperTec or Servoflex-Trio-SuperTec after approx. 12 hours at the earliest. Use a flexible joint sealant to do so, such as Servoperl 10, Servoperl royal, Servoperl royal schnell or Servoflex F.

The sound deadening improvement values indicated in the data sheet have been calculated by the commissioned testing institution on a test bench. These values cannot be transferred to other construction projects, since the ceiling structures may be different in specific properties. In order to determine the sound deadening improvement values for a property, a test installation must be carried out, and the sound deadening values before and after installation must be calculated on site.
The information is based on values from experience, and should be considered as a general reference. We cannot accept any liability for ensuring successful installation, since we have no way to influence the conditions on the construction site or ensure professional finishing. We always recommend conducting practical tests before using the product.
